2017 has been a busy one for the young actress. She secured three roles in three feature films: Hidden Figures, Wonder, and Black Panther, shot a national campaign ad for Procter & Gamble, and is getting ready to star in a new NBC drama, and would you believe that she is just 10-years-old?!
Born in Ethiopia, the young actress was adopted in 2011 into a white family of six located in Palm City, FL. According to her mom, Jewett never has met a stranger and has a heart of gold, proved positive by her random act of kindness, kicking off summer vacation leaving hand-written notes on her neighbors' doorsteps wishing them a good summer.
In Jewett's national campaign ad for Procter & Gamble, she tackles the relevant subject of racial bias through the eyes of black parents in America. "She does not have a full understanding of what bias is," Kim Jewett, Lidya's mother, commented in an interview with TCPalm. "But we discussed the whole premise, and the premise is talk about it so we can end it. All biases.”

Now with three big-screen movies under her belt, the fifth-grader is ready to move on to primetime television as she has recently landed a role in the NBC pilot, Good Girl. The comedy-drama, Good Girls, follows three moms who tire of trying to make ends meet and they decide to rob the local supermarket with toy guns.
Jewett will co star with Mae Whitman of Parenthood, Christina Hendricks of Mad Men and actress/comedian Retta of Parks and Recreation.
So, what's next for this amazing rising star? Well, while in Georgia filming her new NBC pilot, Jewett landed her biggest feature film role to date. Set to release in September 2018, Jewett will star opposite Mandy Moore and Amandla Stenberg in 20th Century Fox's upcoming teen supernatural drama, The Darkest Minds.
