I know i have previously bloged about this but not so much in detail and i have done some more digging and found out more reason why Bleached Hair turns yellow after a amount of time
or when bleached the first time
On the day I bleached my hair this is what it looked like
A photo taken on the day I went to bleach it
Don't get me wrong I surprisingly loved the way it came out but I became obses with platinum white hair. That was the real reason why I bleached my hair that day was to make it platinum white, but it didn't turn out that way
Why???
Here are the reasons
1) It all depends on your hair, if you have dark hair you're going to have to bleached it more then once to get it platinum. I was told the same and My hair wasn't even that dark I had light brown hair before I bleached it
My hair also bleaches really fast as well
2) Yellow hair after bleaching can be because of an application error or due to an unsuitable product choice
For me I had the toner on for like a few second because it started burning my flesh and the hairdresser got scared and washed it off, so i guess if it was left on longer then it would have looked stunning!!!
Most common reasons why bleached hair turns yellow
We have two catagories to look at now
Elements that lift color from the hair:
1)Shampoos with sulfates
2)Ocean water
3)Sun exposure
Elements that lead to buildup:
1)Mineral deposits from the shower or swimming pool
2)Multiple layers of dye
Other reason:
Smoke
How to Cure yellow hair
What I did when my Hair turned a horrible yellow
I went and bleached my hair for the second time and used a strong toner leaving my hair white
The hair you see now is the result
BUT!!! you can get your hair white withouth bleaching it again it just takes longer and I did it aswell before i Bleached my hair again
I got my hair from yellow to white in a month after bleaching it and it was all thanks to my purple shampoo that i used
The reason why it turned yellow was because i went on holiday and went swimming alot the chemicals in the swimming pool turned my hair yellow and I was so annoyed and didn't wanted to go through that long process again so i went and bleached it to speed up the process
But for the people that can't afford to bleach it again or for whatever reason
THIS IS WHAT I DID
1)Purple shampoo
I used the shampoo twice a week
i started leaving it on for 5 minutes
later i started using if for longer that 5 minutes
I would suggest on leaving it on for less the amount of time if your hair is already so white and light, because the purple shampoo will stain your hair purple and it's difficult to wash out. So i would suggest 5 minutes
for poeple with yellow hair I would suggest leaving it on for 10 minute it wound stain your hair for that amount of time but instead will make it ligther and get out all of the yellow. I have tried this and it works
The purple shampoo I use is not a well known brand and so i am not going to share mine with you but the name is
IMBUE influence silver shampoo
But i did find the best purple shampoo on the market
They are the folling:
Bed Head- Dumb Blonde
Alot of people use this shampoo this shampoo poped up more than all the rest and i am really interested in finding out what makes this shampoo so great that everyone on the web recommends this shampoo most of all
This one seems to pop up everywhere so i though i would put this one in I have used this but only the conditioner, I used my shampoo and afterwards i used to use the conditioner, i never tried the smapoo but this trick was manly what made my hair white again
2)Toner
Toner can sometimes be expensive,
There is two options we have here:
OPTION 1
Get a salon that is very cheap with their toner and get a toner twice a month believe me it really work or whenever you feel like doing a tonder I would recommend going to a salon and not doing it yourself
OPTION 2
Go to a salon that is expensive with their toner and it will last you sh#t long and just use the purple shampoo to keep it maintained and you wound likely go for another one very soon except if you expose yourself to element that would make your hair brassy or yellow
I haven't tried option 2 yet but that is the next step I am going to take
3) Shampoo and conditioner
I would suggest to only use the purple, blue or black shampoo and conditioner
Normal shampoo and conditioner as said above has Sulfate in it not all shampoo but most of the shampoos and that is what also turns your hair brassy and we don't want that
using the purple shampoo and conditioner cleans your hair and the conditioner also protects and repairs it like normal shampoo and conditioner, it basicly works the some but it does still damage your hair more
Thats why i will write another post on how to keep your bleached hair looked after cared for and healthy
I hope my post was of some help to you!!
