The Hardest Part Is…

In the Big Book of Wisdom, it is mentioned:

Truly, man is the most ungrateful creature!”

This may ring true for most of us.

I know it does for me.

Gratitude is the ability to be Thankful for our situations, our relationships, and ourselves in general!

In fact, gratitude has been known to cause changes in our perceptions of life.

For example, in a study carried out by two psychologists in the United States, two groups were asked to jot down a few sentences each week. One group was instructed to Write about things they felt thankful about, and the second group had to mention situations that irritated them in any way.

Guess what?

The group that had to write on the causes of irritation were more pessimistic and developed greater health issues than the ones who were noting down things they were grateful about. The grateful ones even reported having exercised more during the process!

Another psychologist (also based in the US) tested the effect positive psychological interventions would have on 411 people. The control group had to write about some early childhood memories. One intervention was writing and delivering a letter of gratitude to someone who had not been properly thanked for their forgiveness. When this intervention took place, the group reported the highest scores on their happiness scales.

Therefore, gratitude also means more happiness!

And gratitude isn’t just a temporary act; it is practically an attitude.

It is a lifestyle in itself!

Unfortunately, it is quickly becoming the rarest of acts in a community that is too fast-paced for its own good.
For a world that has witnessed breakthrough advancements such as 3D printers and the creation of artificial embryos, it is very easy to get bored soon.

And to want more.

Eventually, we end up focusing on what we don’t have.

Forget counting our blessings; we’re just counting what you have that we don’t!
