With a hopeful optimism to attract more than a million tourists from all around the world, the Government of Nepal came up with a grand ‘Visit Nepal Tourism Year 2011’ which haven’t been as successful to meet the goal but was successful enough for the development of tourism in Nepal. As per the statistics of 2012, there was a gradual growth rate of 9.8% attracting more than half a million travelers via aerial route.

When tourism was progressing gradually, unexpectedly, the devastating earthquake hit Nepal in 2015 affecting the whole nation. As per the publications, Nepal speedily bounced back from the shocking earthquake. The number of visitants is slowly recovering, and as per the statistics, the number of international tourists arriving in Nepal in 2018 was above one million. The goal is to bring more than two millions of tourists in the year 2020.
