A Parent was in a teacher education program where she learned about the motivation strategies of goal setting and attributional feedback. Her six Grade son indicated a desire to improve his reading grade and his mother said she would assist him. She had him set goals and provided him feedback about his accomplishments. His grades began to improve. When the son was given his interim report he saw that his grade was lower than he expected and he was very discouraged.
The parent talked with the teacher who explained that he was given lower grades than students were actually making on all interim reports. The teacher reasoned that students slacked off the last week of school. And lower grades motivate them to work harder. After the parent explained that this had actually undetermined the strategy she had been using with her son, the students was given his correct average. On his final report card, he has five A's and one B his best of the year.
Moral :~
One of the best thing to understand is we should fail to motivate ownself. So, Failure is key to success.
