Casually Cute, All Day Every Day!

The phrase, "I am too lazy to look Cute today," has never come out of my mouth! I can guarantee that with no question. Being a 13 year old girl, with emotions running high and what not, it may come to a surprise for some people. Looking cute all the time is actually quite a simple task! The word cute is then followed by the word stylish. Which is then followed by the word work, which is then followed by... The list goes on forever and ever. But in reality, looking cute does not take work. All it takes is the knowledge of what to pair with what and the willingness to spend 5 minutes staring at your closet thinking that there is nothing to wear. BUT TRUST ME, there is always something adorable to wear. So, in this blog post, I am going to give you a few tips on how to find a casually cute and easy Outfit in a short amount of time!
For me, I find it necessary to choose my pants or skirt first. My pants/skirts are simple because I only have two options in them, patterned or solid.
Skirts: For patterned flowy skirts, always wear a solid colored Shirt. Why? Because if two patterns are paired together, the outfit then tends to look messy and as though no thought was put into the outfit (exactly what a lazy outfit it is AND exactly what we do not want). For solid flowy skirts, HAVE SOME FUN with the top! Because no pattern is holding you back, add a pattern into the outfit to add some personality! Just remember, if a pattern is added, make sure the solid color of the skirt is incorporated somewhere in the pattern. The same color rules applies for tighter skirts, patterned skirt=solid shirt and solid skirt=patterned/solid shirt. If you wear a tighter skirt, either a tight shirt OR flowy shirt works because tight on tight is acceptable and there is no chance of having flowy on flowy! NEVER wear flowy on flowy. Trust me! Wearing flowy on flowy tends to give the outfit a very box formed shape and OF COURSE, I would never want anyone to walk around looking like a box (you can thank me later)!
Pants: Just like skirts, pants can either be patterned or solid. If you are wearing skinny jeans (solid denim) or black leggings, pair the pants with whatever. Any color or pattern will work because there is no existent pattern stopping you. You can wear flowy, solid, cropped, etc. If you lean more towards a flowier jean, pair the pants with a tighter shirt because it gives the more subtle look a sharper appearance. Oh, you are about to love me for this, you can even wear sweatpants and still make them look cute! Sweatpants are just like any other pair of pants so same rules apply. Because they tend to be looser, DO NOT add a loose shirt or jacket because LAZY OUTFIT ALERT! Pair the sweats with a crop top to show some belly and prove to the world that you are not asleep but also functioning enough to show some skin. Or you can pair the sweats with a tighter shirt because remember, no baggy on baggy!
Now, we are going to move on to shirts. The same color rule applies through the shirts too. But because we already know what type of pants were are wearing, it will be easy to pick a top. In this "shirt" section, I will not be talking about what patterns to pair where, but what types of shirts look good with different types of pants.
Loose: Loose shirts always look better with tight pants, so either leggings, tight skirt, or jeans. The tight compliments the loose and ties the whole outfit together.
Tight: Either paired with tight bottoms or loose bottoms (so skirt and jeans), tight shirts look great with just about anything. Wearing a tight shirt gives the outfit a more "sophisticated" look and shows that effort was put into the outfit.
Sweaters: Sweaters are adorable for the season we are in right now and also with a nice pair of jeans, leggings, or skirt. When you are wearing a sweater, dress up the rest of the outfit with either accessories, shoes, etc. Make sure the sweater does not look like a "lazy sweater" as I like to call them. The sweater should look comfortable but have a stylish touch, just like the one I am wearing above.
Crop Tops: Crop tops look amazing with jeans and leggings so if those are your bottoms of the day, consider a crop top. When wearing a crop top, check the weather. If it is a warmer day, have at it! If it is a colder day, pair the crop top with a cute cardigan!
Seasonal Shirts: Lastly, I wanted to tell you about the cardigan trick. In fall and winter, the weather gets cooler and those super cute summer shirts are thrown out the window. But... just add a cardigan! It is a sweater than not only keeps you warm but also shows the original shirt AND it is very cute with almost every single outfit!
And our final tip is for shoes and hats! I know this is a long post so I will keep it quick!
Shoes: If the outfit is a little bland on color, add some in with you shoes. Do not be afraid to have your shoes be the wow factor! With jeans and a sweater, add some heals if you want! Fashion sneakers such as Superstars by Adidas match almost any outfit!
Seasonal Shoes: Boots! One word says it all. Boots are a very fall shoe type and easy to incorporate into any outfit. Boots does not just mean knee high, it can also mean anklet booties as well!
Hats: Bring back 2014 and wear a beanie! They are cute, playful, and they add some personality at the same time. Kill 3 birds with 1 stone am I right?!
