Review: Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel

For our long term readers, you may know I have horribly dry Skin. Paired with the arid Kansas air, my skin has been suffering lately. As such, I recently bought Neutrogena’s Hdyro Boost Water Gel after hearing it was great for those with dry skin in hopes it would give my skin some life back.

I’ve been using the product for three weeks now, and unfortunately I didn’t have great results until recently when I discovered the best way to apply it. Originally, I was only applying it on my dried skin after I washed my face. At first it felt creamy and moist, but after it dried, my skin felt tight. I didn’t really see an improvement in my skin tone and was worried it was making my condition worse.

I read up on the ingredient inside the Gel, hyaluronic acid, and learned that it should be paired with a wet face and another moisturizer. Though, the Water Gel is a moisturizer, I began adding a second moisturizer after the Water Gel dried to see if that helped. I’ve been doing this for about a week now and my skin is starting to feel better than ever. It looks less patchy and red compared to when I was using just my old moisturizer.

Overall, I like the product. There’s no harsh smell and it applies great. If you have dry skin, I would recommend this product. If you are experiencing a feeling of tightness in your face after applying it, I would do what I do. Make sure to apply the product on a wet face, let it dry, and then add a second moisturizer for added moisture.

I’ll see you next Wednesday!

With love,
