Hey guys,

How are you all doing? I hope you guys are enjoying my Daniel Fast series. This will be the last one for this year. That’s right. I’m done with the fast. This journey has been amazing and I can’t wait to share with you my overall experience. So let’s get to it.

SPIRITUAL

This week I was challenged in my faith. I had been experiencing some negative thoughts, but with God’s grace, he has delivered me from that. I learned the true meaning of sacrifice. I learned that if we really want to see changes in our lives, we have to put ourselves in some uncomfortable situations. Even if that means, missing out on things you enjoy (food) to reap the results of a fast.

One monumental thing that happened this week was finally finishing my Bible In One Year Plan. I felt a sense of peace and ease upon finishing it. Honestly, it has definitely increased my appetite for reading scripture. I started another plan that had shorter passages and I felt almost incomplete. I wanted to read more. This is a major change from where I was a couple of years ago. In the past, it was a struggle to get me to read the bible consistently and truly bask in the word. Now, I feel strange when I don’t read the bible.

I have also had some positive news this week in regards to my academics and career. I know that this is just the beginning of the awesome plans God has in store for me.

PHYSICAL

This week was probably the most intense cravings. I craved soul food, grilled cheese, and pizza (I don’t even really care for pizza that much). Glory to God, I did not succumb to my cravings. When I did break my fast, it felt really strange eating Meat again. Even though I can eat meat, I want to continue with a healthier lifestyle and eat less meat overall.

Over these three weeks, I lost a total of six pounds. My stomach looks flatter and my body feels lighter. I can sense a change in my overall health.

This journey taught me to honor God with every part of who I am. It taught me that I don’t need to make things (even food) an idol. It taught me that what you put in your body can really impact your wellness in more ways imaginable.

I am so grateful that I did this. I can’t wait to share more testimonies and see the new things God has in store for me.

Stay Blessed,

Abisola
