Last night this conversation came up with my husband. It is not the first time but giving the time of year it became topic of conversation.
When is Spoiled good? When buying materialistic items such as toys or games it is much like buying our children's happiness, agreed? What happens when they get bored with those items and want more to feel that happiness again? You get a bad attitude and a demanding, expecting, emotional bad pattern that we eventually get tired of. Then we start asking ourselves where we went wrong. By then you have waited to long and its hard to reel them back in.
Well...what about buying items that get more than one person involved? When becoming adults we become so consumed with responsibilities we forget how fun it is to use our imaginations andplaygames. Letting go of all that which consumes us and getting down to our child's level is not only good for our children but for us (adults) as well. We are able to relate to our children and remember what it was like for us when we were children. Do you remember?
Ok so, when is spoiled good?Spoilthem with love. Hold them, kiss them, tuck them in every night, tell them how much you love them, be consistent and expect the same in return. As stated in the previous post,Start When they are Young.
