Deck13’s upcoming hardcore Dark Souls-like adventure, The Surge, got a new trailer showcasing combat between man and machine. The game follows Warren on his first day on the job… . The trailer now shows him battling mechanical foes deeper within the complex.

The Surge takes place in a dystopian setting where the CREO megacorporation works to reverse the devastating effects of climate change, but the facility is hit by a mysterious, catastrophic event. After awakening from a blackout caused by this disaster, Warren is thrust into a deadly new world. Robots gone haywire, insane augmented coworkers and rogue devices—basically everything—want him dead.

Players are pitted in a desperate fight to survive, engaging these unpredictable foes in tight, visceral melee combat. Grow in power with The Surge’s unique loot system. The loot system requires the player to target and slice specific limbs off enemies in battle, and then equip the same dismembered weapons or armor.

The Surge will be available to gamers very soon! The game comes out on May 16 and is available for preorder right now on Xbox One and PC.
