Jaipur Traffic Police Uses Jasprit Bumrah’s No-Ball Photo To Teach Road Safety

The collaboration of the cricket and memes are deadly. Since the origin of the internet, both together have been proving out a lethal combination. Nowadays, even the Police departments are killing it on social media with their mark on sarcasm. In the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 final, Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Pakistani batsman Fakhar Zaman off a no-ball early in the inning and Zaman went to hit a match-winning century against India.

Cricket fans are still upset with Bumrah’s mistake and on the other side, Jaipur Traffic Police has used this incident to promote road safety among people.

Traffic Police Jaipur tweeted a photo with a caption, “Don’t cross the line it can be costly.” According to The Times of India, Sanjay Agarwal, commissioner of police said: “Usually it is seen that youths don’t care about traffic rules.Thus we have used the cricket action which is very contemporary and relevant to teach the youngsters that jumping red light or crossing the zebra line at crossings can prove costly to their lives.”

Moreover, the police are even planning to use this photo as hoardings and signboards across the city.

Lovely Katiar, deputy commissioner of traffic police said: “Such minor things click well with people. As we know we are a cricket loving nation which believes that Bumrah’s no ball allowed Pakistani opener Fakhar Jaman to score a century in the crucial final match which cost us the match. It is better to make people understand that violating traffic signals can cost lives.”
