I have never been a fan of dark lipsticks, but off lately I have been really obsessed with them. With darker shade of Lipstick comes a great responsibility of making the pout absolutely perfect because the lips grab all the attention on your face. Today’s post is about the five crucial steps I follow in applying a dark lipstick.
1.Exfoliate:
This is a general step I follow before applying any lipstick. But you must follow this step before applying a darker shade because the color tends to settle in the dry patchy areas of your lips. I make my own lip scrub by mixing rice flour and honey to form a paste. Scrub them gently in a circular motion
2. Moisturize:
Even if you don’t suffer from dry chapped lips, you should not be skipping this step. specially while using a matte lipstick. Currently I am using the Fab India Plum Passion Lip Butter. Prep your lips with the lip balm before starting with your make up. Let it sit on your lips for good 10 mins and after that blot the excess with a tissue paper.
3. Conceal:
Pat some concealer on your lips if you have pigmented lips. This will help in getting the exact color of your lipstick on your lips and also it will last longer.
4. Line the lips:
Using a lip liner is a must when it comes to applying a dark lipstick. Lining your lips will help the lipstick to stay in place
5. Apply your lipstick:
If you are applying the lipstick directly from the bullet, it may get little tricky. Investing in a good lip brush will be a good option. When using a brush, there is lot of control and the chances of the lipstick budging out are bleak. In order to avoid the lipstick to get on your teeth, put your index finger in your mouth and slowly pull it out. By doing this the extra lipstick will transfer on your finger keeping your pearlies away from color.
