The Supreme Court appealed to the long-awaited requests of 10-50 years old women of permitting them to enter the Sabarimala temple. The Supreme Court passed the verdict on Friday where it was clearly stated that the Court has decided to open the temple gates for women. The Court further declared that the restriction of entry of women in the temple violates the Constitutional law as given in Section 14 and 25 of the Constitution and nobody shall stop any woman from visiting the premises of the temple. There are lots of places in India where the entry is restricted by caste, creed, and religion. One such issue has been the temple in Kerala named Sabarimala Temple where sources have said that the restriction is done because of the menstrual cycle of women.
According to Hindu Mythology, Lord Ayappa is believed to be the creation of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu’s avatar Mohini and hence any female entry was believed to be restricted by the temple ward members.
