The purpose of a good education

I was brutally mistreated as a kindergardner canned harshly for lack of understanding by my class teacher who also happened to be an English teacher.  Canning is acceptable and non acceptable in many parts of the world depending on where you're from, but it should never be directed towards a defenseless three year old.
I was so traumatised by this incident that I would start crying the moment I heard the English language for a year or so. My mother being the supportive and wonderful person that she is helped me through this harsh and Difficult time of my life.

This poem is about a utopian hypothetical world I dream of;

The Purpose of Education in my world shall not be to create fear,
or to conform; It will not be because everyone else is doing it;
It will not be to get a job; The purpose of education should be for your existence to matter
To leave the world a little better than when you found it.
The purpose of education must be to be happy; to see life for all it is,
To be able to analyse the world through science and art.
To genuinely know that every difficulty you face physically and emotionally,
will pass in due time, that things indeed will get better eventually....
They say life is fleeting, but what happens when you fear trying at all?
You wait and wait and wait for the perfect moment,
because society dictates you must be perfect.

In my perfect world my education would teach me how to take a DD at the bank,
How to apply for government documents,
How to fill a form at a hospital,
How to take care of my basic health,
How to cope with changes,
How no acheivement gets bigger than a good healthy body and mind,
How to practise gratitude.

In my perfect world teachers can feel what each student thinks and feels
but they would never let on they can.
They can relate; Thus they will be less cynical, less critical, more understanding.
Cynicism is a tool perhaps that works on  many, betters them but kills so many more.
Students whether children or adults all come in many different shapes sizes and mindsets.
Some are strong, while others are weak,
Some act tough but are too weak, some act weak but are too cunning,
Some easy learners others slower,
Some inherently brilliant, some just need a push and some hard work.
There will be no canning , chalk throwing or verbal abuse.
They will be model representatives of an education system,
who truely are the people they needed when they were younger.

Dear teachers
I understand we students can make your life difficult at times but sometimes it just because we don't honestly know any better.
We don't ever mean to make your life difficult intentionally,
Forgive our ignorance and hold our hands when we fear instead of chides,
I hope we can leave this world better than we found it.
