Novel Writing: Week 2 – TotS

If you don’t know what’s happening, go to this link, and it will explain everything.

Novel Writing: Week 1 – TotS

So now that I’ve introduced you to my project, these posts will be much shorter, with word count stats, struggles, and other comments I decided to make as well as my favorite thing I wrote this week. Let’s jump in!

Monday, January 22, 2018 – Monday, January 29, 2019

As of this moment:

Prologue: 530 Words

Chapter 1: 1, 256 Words

Chapter 2: 2,586 Words

Total: 4,372 Words

So if you check last week’s progress, you’ll see a comment saying that I was considering melding my first and second chapters to make the length a bit more pleasing, but as I go over it again, both seem to fit within their length.

I’m looking over my chapter, and I notice a blocky paragraph and mixed up dialogue tags, and I need to make some characters stupider, but not too, too many immediate edits this week.

Passage of the week!

“I hear you have an interesting story.”

“Do you now? What is it?” I asked.

“I was going to ask you that,” She said spinning around. I took her in my arms again as we resumed the normal course of the dance. “Fine, then,” she said. “Let me specify, your life story.” I laughed.

“A long, and winding tale, I assure you,” I said as we stepped back and forth, turning and winding around the ballroom.

“But I would much wish to hear it,” she said.

“It would take more than this dance to tell it.”

“Then let it take more than one dance.” I raised my eyebrows at her. She laughed, filling the air with the sound of tinkling bells. I smiled.

“Well then. I was born.”

“No interrupting. I’d hate this to take three dances.”

– TotS Chapter 2  ~ Wysteria Campion

I feel like I’m channeling Jane Austen when I write stuff like this. Thanks for reading and checking in!

Also, quick update, Posting Schedule is restarting on Fridays but I’m also not going to try and kill myself. I’ve got school work to do, a novel and this blog and testing and it’s a lot. So Wednesday will be the day I post things if I have a topic, Mondays until this project is done, is for Novel Updates. Every other Friday is still commonplace book posts, which are starting this week. Thanks for understanding guys! I’ll keep ya’ll updated on the posting schedule, and since I’m kinda dry on things to talk about, feel free to comment questions or just ideas for posts and I’ll see what I can research/give my advice on.
