words- I was sitting in the bedroom one day. There was a bottle of Dettol in the bathroom and a thought came, very strong, “Just drink it and die. What’s the point? The whole world is laughing at you right now. Just end it.”
I can imagine what that poor girl must have gone through.I think i have more respect for her now reading what she had been through.Look at it like this,may people go into serious depression when a relationship is not going well or coming to an end.We have heard of people committing suicide,running mad and all sorts.Now,99% of these cases are cases that only close family members and friends know about.So we are talking a handful of people.Now imagine a case where millions of people know your story,you walk on the street and everyone is looking at you whispering.You go to work and its the same.You open the papers and your face and name is plastered everywhere.So is it on the television and online.This is what Miss Makinwa has had to put on with and i can very well tell you this cannot be easy.
One of the heartbreaking parts was when she wrote about how she found out Maje was expecting a baby by her on and off rival,Anita:
I got on my knees in front of him, my voice calm as I can make it. “Maje, you can’t keep lying. What is going on? He walks away, leaving me there with my heart in my hands. I see him pacing, like he is having a private conversation. Then all of a sudden, he walks back to the living room, looks straight into my eyes and says, ‘She’s pregnant’.I fall to the ground. My head….‘What’s she having?’
‘A boy,’ he says.
‘How long have you known?’
‘I’ve always known…. It was what I thought I wanted,’ he says.
Really terrible,that little lady is very strong indeed.Less than this has broken many women.
Another eye catching part in the memoirs was the revelation that he had asked her to make a sex tape with him,which she complied to cos she said she wanted to do anything to please her man.Unknown to her,he had done the same with Anita as well.And she was horrified when she discovered the tape and watched both of them at it.Can't imagine how that must have felt for her.
There are different reactions online about this latest development.Some Nigerians feel she should not have made these revelations public.I say why not?It's her life and if that is what she needs to do to be ehaled and move on,good for her.Many have said they would buy the book when it comes out.Which was quite a bit of a shock cos we have lost our reading culture in Nigeria a long time ago.If Toke Makinwa Book can help bring some of this back,hey that's not a bad thing is it?But i know i am just fooling myself,lol.They are buying it cos they love gossip and gists,not because they have suddenly caught on to the fact that we should all read more.

I hope all concerned in this love triangle find peace and can move on with their lives.She revealed her ex husband did not make it easy for her to move on as he begged her like his life depended on it.
As she revealed about past occurrences: I got a Facebook message from Maje. It read: ‘I miss you and I cannot deny or hide it, come back to me’. We started talking again… I convinced myself that he had changed. Maje and I had been together for nine years, on and off, at this point, and it had been an unending cycle of hurt and betrayal. Every time we took ten steps forward in our relationship, we took fifty back. Each time I gave up and let go, Maje would come after me and hold on so tightly till I gave in.
But i am happy for her that she stayed strong and resisted it.That man is not for her,he has no respect for her and its all a game to him.Once he gets her gain,it will be on to the next girl and the drama will start all over again.
