Facebook Messenger is a unique messaging app which is famous globally and almost used by everybody who uses Facebook. The app itself is available for Android and iOS with even though a bit more space but more than that, its features. Messenger itself has so many features which you may not have noticed.
Messenger is not only a texting application, it can be used in many other ways and sometimes, in some fun ways. You can customize your messenger app as per your choice. Everything can be changed according to your desires. Let us take a look what we can do with Facebook Messenger.
Voice and Video Calls:
You can directly call any person who uses Facebook Messenger just by pressing the Calling button in the Chat room. If you even want to start a video calling, just press the video camera icon besides the calling button and you'll be able to start a video chat easily.

Share your location:
If you are running late for something and don't know your exact location, you just need to click the location Button in the chat room and you can find your friend or anybody easily. It is a great feature if you don't know the name of the place exactly or you're lost or something and your friends can find you out.
Add Nicknames:
You can easily add any nickname to the person you are chatting with. If you like any name for him, you can go to chat options in that chat room and click on 'Nicknames' where you can give him or her the desired nickname and so can the other person in the chat.
Change your chat colors:
Ever wanted a different color to your messages rather than the same old blue one? Yes you can change colors of your chat anytime with each color to each person's chat. Just click on chat options in chat room and click on 'Colors' and choose your favorite color among many other colors.
Play Chess in Messenger:
It may seem odd but it's not. It's completely true. You can play messenger chess with anybody. All you need to do is find a person whom you want to play with and type @fbchess and the game will commerce. You can play with anybody having messenger app. Write @fbchess help for instructions of the game in the chat.
Use Messenger as a boarding pass:
When you arrive at an airport, you can actually use you Facebook Messenger as a boarding pass. KLM ROYAL Dutch Airlines provide this service and maybe it will be introduced to other traveling services too with the course of time.
Send money:
Ever wanted to send somebody money easily? You can do it via Facebook Messenger. You will need to click on three dots or options menu in chat room and click on 'Payments'. You can do your payments via that option. You'll need to add a debit card first to compete the payment process.

Random Cute:
This feature may be known to only few of the people using messenger. If you know a friend of you likes cute stuff over the internet or make somebody smile, you can just send them a text in the chat room as @dailycute and it will send them a cute picture with the image source in the caption.
Remove message previews:
Ever got annoyed that your private messages display up in notification bar or the lock screen of your phone. You've wanted to hide the message content but you don't know how. Don't worry, there's a simple trick for that.
To remove message previews, just head on to the messenger settings and uncheck the 'Show Previews' option. You will instantly notice that no text will be displayed in your notification bar or lock screen.
Draw on your pictures:
The photos you send to somebody you're chatting with, can be edited and can be drawn upon freely by your fingers. It can be used for fun or for even writing something useful to the person you're sending it to. All you need to do is while you click the picture before sending, there is another option right next to it, a PENCIL icon. Click that and you'll be able to draw anything on your pictures before sending, in any color even.
Play Basketball with your friends:
It probably may seem new to you or awkward, but believe me it's not! Who doesn't want to play or find some good time with friends and basketball over messenger would be really awesome. If you want to play with a friend, you can just go to the chat room, click on the emoji button and find Basketball icon. When you send it, simply click it and it will land you in the game. Go on and try it and compete against your friends.
Use Facebook messenger without having a Facebook account:
Well if you don't have a Facebook account or simply want to deactivate your Facebook but still be on messenger in touch with everybody, you can still do it with actually having a Facebook account. All you'll need to do is register for Facebook via your personal number and there you go. You're on Messenger without having a Facebook account.
