What is National Unversities Commission (NUC)
Just as the name implies, NUC is a regulatory body in Nigeria that regulates the activities of all universities in Nigeria which range from; accrediting departments, regulation of number of students the universities are to admit and others.
Before we continue, we need to know a little about NUC and how it was back then before its present state. NUC was formerly an advisory agency, which was established in 1962 in the cabinet office. It became a statutory body and the first Executive Secretary, in the person of Prof. Jibril Aminu was then appointed in 1974. (NUC) is a parastatal under the Federal Ministry of Education (FME).
