In a recent research at Harvard School of Public Health, youths taking high Doses of antidepressants have higher risks of Suicidal Behavior.
The finding was a result of the study of 162,000 people in the USA. The age of the study group ranged from 10 to 64 years. The subjects were suing antidepressants like Prozac and Seroxat. The researchers compared the data on average doge or higher amount from the years 1998 to 2010.
The Suicidal behavior among youths aged 24 and below were found to have double the risk of creating suicidal behavior when they are taking high dose of antidepressants. On older adults the suicidal behavior wasn’t found to be increased.
There is a high chance that the youths who are prescribed higher doses of the drugs are different from the people who are prescribed normal doses. Read more in Dailymail. (photo credit – Victor)
