Explora Children’s Museum
Children visiting this museum are allowed to try out several interactive exhibits that provide more information about science and natural history. The Math Moves! exhibit offers a fun way to learn more about fractions, percentages and other mathematical subjects. There are also arts and crafts workshops that give children the chance to create their own unique masterpieces using recycled materials.

ABQ BioPark Aquarium
Many of the aquatic life species that are commonly found in the Rio Grande are showcased at this popular city attraction. The numerous freshwater and saltwater tanks throughout the exhibit give young visitors the opportunity to get a closer look at other fascinating creatures as well. Stingrays, jellyfish and turtles are just a few of the animals that can be seen here. Children can also observe the eels and bamboo sharks that swim through the waters.

Cliff’s Amusement Park
Opened in 1959, this amusement park has become one of the top summertime attractions in Albuquerque. Roller coasters and other thrill rides are great for kids who wish to experience some excitement. Kiddyland includes rides that are ideal for younger children. Anyone who needs to cool off can get soaked at WaterMania!. Plenty of fun can also be had at the laser maze or at any of the game booths.

Petroglyph National Monument
Children will be delighted to see all of the animal-shaped volcanic rock carvings while touring this outdoor historical site. Many of these carvings are believed to be more than 500 years old and are the work of Native Americans and early Spanish settlers.

Sandia Peak Ski Area
Snow is not required to have fun here. You can take your children on a ride up the Sandia Peak Tramway and behold all the natural beauty around you on your way up to the peak. Hiking and bike trails are open around the peak throughout much of the year. During the winter, visitors are welcome to try the skiing and snowboarding runs.
