Why is Asian-Mexican fusion such a Food Truck staple? What is it about those two kinds of food that inspire so many food trucks? Well, Box Of Chacos does a pretty good job of throwing its hat in the Asian Fusion ring. The word “umami” is getting thrown around a lot these days, and their Kimchi Burger is an excellent example. Their tacos and quesadillas are a popular treat here.
Dim Ssäm à gogo
Dim Ssäm à gogo is the mobile unit of excellent restaurant Sakaya Kitchen and Blackbrick. Chef Richard Hales, the man behind these projects, created Sakaya and DSAG as cheap, fast, and organically oriented food rooted in the traditions of Korea, Japan, and China. They’ve got a killer Bulgogi burger, as well as more traditional Asian fare, like pork buns and orange ribs that’ll make you weep. With DSAG, the fast-casual style of Sakaya is rolling across Miami.
At FOAR, an acronym for “Freedom On A Roll”, it’s all about breakfast. There’s all kinds of egg and sausage sandwiches as well as more exotic fare, influenced by flavors of Singapore and Taipei. One of their specialties is a pancake and bacon taco. It’s all amazing and sure beats some tired scrambled eggs.
