Diffuser carrier oil with added Denatured Alcohol (w 5% Methyl Alcohol)

I am using Dipropylene Glycol as the reed Diffuser Carrier Oil but it is not really effective in dissipating the scent. Adding ethanol to the mixture, as suggested by many, could help.

Sadly, pure ethanol is heavily taxed in the country where I live and so I am thinking of using denatured alcohol that contains 5% Methanol / Methyl alcohol instead. I understand that Methanol is poisonous if consumed or inhaled. But if we add such low amount to the DG carrier mixture, is inhaling the methanol vapour still a toxicity or health concern?

Or is using Isopropyl Alcohol a lesser evil?
