Istanbul Turkey Police Conduct Raids
Anadolu Agency Turkey’s state run News Agency said Turkish Police carried out 16 raids on ISIS suspects in Istanbul and the western coastal city of Izmir. Turkish officials blame ISIS for the suicide bombing attacks on the Airport although no claim by Islamic militants has been made. It is unclear if the raids were directly related to the attacks.
Airport Bombing Attack bears hallmarks of ISIS
The news agency said it Turkish Police arrested 9 people in Izmir suspected of having ties to Islamic State fighters in Syria. Police said they found 3 hunting rifles and documents related to ISIS during the searches according to Anadolu Agency.
The raids follow Tuesdays attack at Istanbul’s airport which left 42 people dead and 239 wounded.
