'Armed Woman' Scare At Cologne Job Centre

Reports of an Armed Woman at an employment agency prompted a Major Police Operation, but officers say nothing of note was found.

German police have ended the search of a Job Centre in Cologne, which was cordoned off after reports of an Armed woman.
Police closed the building in the Sulz area of the city and told staff to stay in their offices.

Officers detained a suspect on another matter at the employment agency when witnesses said they had seen an armed woman walking around in the building.

Police said that they were called due to a "threat" and dismissed reports of a bomb scare.
Following a search of the building nothing suspicious was found, police said.

The major police operation came just hours after Chancellor Angela Merkel said refugees who carry out attacks in Germany mocked the country that took them in.

She added that there would be no reversal in the policy of accepting migrants.
