People are leaving their well paid jobs and running to rent small office spaces for their very own startups . Sounds cool to ears , Startup buzz ! Actually they get motivated and inspired by many big hits observed in the growing entrepreneurial culture in the first half of this decade like Flipkart , snapdeal, olx , etc .
Having your own company , freedom to work your way and getting to continue college like environment …friendly , adaptable, open to learning with beer parties at nights to celebrate every moment of success. Who wouldn’t want that ? You see what we are experiencing is a revolution in doing Business. Its not just about going online to capture real time business , there is more to it . Its no more an era of few people leading and others following . Its about freedom to realise one’ s potential .
People who are Afraid to die won’t become soldiers. People who are afraid to loose money won’t become money lenders , people who are afraid to drown won’t become swimmers. when a path is proven to be worth passing , others follow. Similarly when risks have been proved to be worth taking , risks are being taken .
But taking risks in haste will drown you even if you know swimming . Just because your Idea is worth working on doesn’t mean you would be successful . There many vendors who are their own bosses. But they have not grown over the years . They have enough expertise in their fields still they are limited to their localities . Why? Cause either they lack resources or they lack a good foresight to take the calculated risks or some businesses are not worth expanding .
There are enough examples coming up these days of startups shutting down or merging with some competitor to survive . Why? Cause of lack of business , or even if they have enough business they are not capable enough to cater to them .
Feasibility and profitability needs to be gauged at every new step taken in business to remain in business. Don’t ignore the environmental factors , they can be supportive and they might become destructive anytime . The market is highly competitive and your startup might not be the one backed by millionaire investors .
The point is that that just having a vision won’t work , see how far you will be able to pursue that vision if you wish to grow on that idea .Anticipating the future changes in the market and environment will help you decide whether the idea is worth pursuing .
Its all gambling dude, just that your moves have a long term effect !
