The Garmin Forerunner 225

Tags: heart rate

I purchased this watch over the summer for $300, before it was even in stores! It was totally worth it, however it can be addicting at times. I often find myself looking down at my watch almost every couple of minute…the reasons being the Heart Rate and pacer that are in the watch. The watch is able to take heart rate off of your wrist, which I have found to be very helpful in knowing when I can push myself harder and when I should go easier. Although sometimes I found it to be a little off, displaying my heart rate to be higher than what it was, which caused me to become all nervous. The other thing this watch does is pacing! This is also helpful for anything, whether it’s a 5k, a track workout, or the most beneficial, a tempo run. The one big downfall to this watch – it can be distracting and can take the fun out of a run, by almost forcing you to keep looking at your wrist and then getting frustrated with the results. In the end, I have decided to keep my watch and use it for practice and training, but take it off during races and just trust my training!image
