Ruby Rose, 30, was honored with one of the biggest awards of the night at the 2016 Glaad Awards on April 2, and the honor was made even more special by who the show got to present her with it: her dear friend, Taylor Swift, 26! Taylor took the stage at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles and shocked the entire audience!

“Tonight I’m here to honor someone who, through her words and through her actions, proves that she is a force of nature,” Taylor said above the roar of applause from the audience, about her friend Ruby. “She tells the world that no one can judge us and no one can stop us.”

She is a woman of many talents and she is my friend. Ruby breaks down barriers and opens up opportunities for all people, but most importantly, young LGBT people all over the world,” Taylor said.

Beautiful! Ruby was honored with the Stephen F. Kolzak award, one of the biggest of the night, awarded to “an LGBT media professional who has made a significant difference in promoting equality and acceptance,” according to Glaad. It’s named for the director who spent a great deal of his career raising awareness in the entertainment industry about LGBT discrimination. TheOITNB star rightfully deserved it!

Ruby was as surprised as the rest of the audience to see her friend, and walked to the stage excitedly to receive her award. They hugged fiercely, and Ruby seemed very moved by Taylor’s speech. It was exceptionally high praise, after all! Tay even helped carry her train off the stage!
