Today was a very gloomy day for Ghanaians and Entertainment Industry as one of their legendary highlife singer, Daasebre Gyamenah popularly known as Ahoofe passed away early this morning.
This shocking news was confirmed by his family, authentic media source and Facebook.
Upon hearing this sad news, many fans and his fellow musicians shared messages on social media platforms for the late one.
The multiple awards winning musician was one of key highlife icon in Ghana, he released his 2nd and most popular debut album of his music career, titled ‘Kokooko’ in 1999.
The ace musician was awarded with numerous awards at the most celebrated Music Awards in Ghana, Ghana Music Awards. Some of them are Best Contemporary Album, Best Song Writer, Over All Best Album, Best Contemporary Highlife Song, Best Contemporary Highlife Artiste, Best Male Vocal Performance and many among others.
It’s a very unexpected lose for the Ghanaian entertainment industry, and we couldn’t find a legend like him. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
The musician was a Muslim and his real (Islamic) name was Abubakar Siddiq. His late mother was a Muslim who died when artist was five years old. Many of his fans don’t know about his Islamic name.
