President John Mahama has advised Ghanaians to stay united in the whole thing they do before, during and after this year’s polls.
The President was addressing during a Muslim vigil known as the Maulid in Kumasi.
Mr. Mahama said, we must make sure that we remain a nation that is united. Do not permit anyone to exploit claps that originate from disagreements of any type or shape, whether cultural, religious or political.
He said that “these fundamentalists do not classify in their choice of victims. They kill children,men and women, young and old, and they also attack people of all religious persuasions, be they Christians, Muslims or non-Muslims or people of other beliefs.”
“I wish to promise you that our security organizations are stable and are doing all that is possible to keep us safe. We must all care them to be able to understand this objective.”
Ghana’s Peace enviable
President Mahama at the occasion also speak Ghana has a Blessed Global Recognition because of the peace it loves.
He speak at a time when terrorism is on the growth, there is peace co-existence among the spiritual groups in the state.
President Mahama thus highly praised the Muslim community and other religious groups for making sure that peace succeeds in the country adding that “Ghana has a blessed Global Recognition and it is a place where peaceful co-existence grow well between Christians, Muslims and people of other religion.”
“This case of agreement has helped us keep the peace and fictitious ahead with the needed progress for our people and we must keep it… This year, the call is even more essential especially following the rush in global terrorist happenings”.
Mawlid is the performance of the birthday of the Islamic Prophet, Muhammad, which is celebrated often on the 12th of Rabi’ al-awwal, the 3rd month on the Islamic calendar.
The 12th of Rabi’ al-awwall is the most famous date from a list of many dates that are described as the birth date.
