JB Danquah’s ‘killer’ arrested

Trustworthy information reaching to the Media, says the Accra Regional Police Command has arrested a man doubted to have murdered the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North, Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu.

Sources confirmed the arrest to the media, the suspected killer was lifted in an operation led by the Local Commander, COP Dr. George Akuffo Dampare.

The operation started last night and the ended on Thursday dawn. Information of how he arrest and the characteristics of the suspect are unidentified for now. According to the media, the police are now interrogating the suspicious to find out whether he operated independently or was contracted to murder.

Inquiries into the horrible killing of the MP started on Tuesday, after his death at dawn that same day. Efforts to arrest the suspect increased after the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) was asked to take possession of the investigations.

A minority side Member of Parliament according to police sources, was also involved in the arrest of the suspicious. The arrest comes a day after 5 of the 6 persons who were called for questioning over the murder were discharged. After that on Wednesday evening, the police was only arresting the late MP’s private security guard, who they told had more questions to answer.

The stabbing

The MP was killed by unidentified attackers at his home at Shiashi in Accra, where he lived with his family. Some fellow citizen of the late MP have told the media that they heard about a fight between the MP and his assailants, which wanted them out of their homes only to notice that he had been killed.

They have seen a ladder behind the late MP’s bedroom, which they suspicious was used by the attackers to enter his room where he was murdered and left in a pool of blood.

Moreover they expressed that, they saw a man run out of the house but the man could not use the main entering because they had then called in the police who were posted at the gate waiting to enter.

About J.B Danquah

Once Joseph Boakye Danquah, selected as a Deputy Minister for Women and Children’s Affairs.

He was the Abuakwa North MP from 2000 until 2008, when he missing the seat to the NPP’s Prof. Samuel Amoako.

He returned in 2012 to gain the seat. He left behind a wife and 2 children.
Joseph Boakye Danquah was a chartered Accountant by profession and is the grandson of late J.B Danquah, pan-Africanist, a Ghanaian statesman, scholar and historian, who played a major role in pre- and post-colonial Ghana.

J.B Danquah escaped similar attack in 2010

The late MP get away a similar attack in 2010, although the media has no facts to suggest that the case of 2010 is related to the current one. In that attack, the MP sustained a deep cut on his arm. In that case, the married MP’s girlfriend, was the one suspect of scheming the attack on him over his denial to give her money.
