The Film ‘Beasts of No Nation’ was one of the numerous films that were reprimanded when the nominations during the current year’s Academy Awards (Oscar) were declared prompting the #OscarsSoWhite.

On-screen character Ama K. Abebrese, who played the role of lead character Agu’s mom in the film, imparted her considerations on the reprimand to Jeremie on Touchdown on early this week.

As it were, I was somewhat amazed in light of the fact that I thought if any motion picture should be nominated… performances and acting left right and focus. I thought Idris (Elba) would get a nomination in the up and coming Oscars, and I thought Abraham Attah would also get a nomination, she said.

The Oscars has been going on for a long time approximately 88 years; and in the 88 years, they’ve given 14 Oscars to dark individuals.

Abraham Attah played the lead role of Agu, who, when common war destroys his family, is compelled to join a unit of hired soldier warriors transformed into a kid officer.

Idris Elba played the administrator of the hired fighter unit.

In view of the 2005 novel of the same title by Uzodinma Iweala, it stars Fred Amugi and Grace Nortey. It was directed/coordinated by Emmy Award-champ Cary Fukunaga. It is the first fictional feature film produced and disseminated by Streaming Service Netflix.

The film was premiered in Ghana a year ago. Prior to that, it premiered on Netflix and in a few selected Theaters in the USA on the 16^th of October, 2015.

It was screened at various prestigious film festivals including Venice, BFI London and Toronto International Film Festival.
