She’s been one of country music’s biggest selling artists since the late 90’s….with classic hits like ‘How Do I Live?’
And the ‘Coyote Ugly’ theme ‘Can’t Fight The Moonlight’.
But LeAnn Rimes shows no signs of stopping any time soon.
Later this year she’s bringing out her new album ‘Remnants’, which she describes as ‘soul-based’.
“Although on my last record ‘Spitfire’ we definitely knew the story we were writing song by song and it was very much in the moment of a lot of heartache and chaos, I guess. And this one, this time around, is just coming from a completely different place. And not until we finalised the record did we see this amazing arc that we had written and created and it’s a beautiful record. It’s really soul-based.”
When it comes to feedback – Rimes says she turns to her husband and stepchildren as well as her own “internal cues”.
“Kids are amazing. They will let you know if it sucks and they seem to like it so that’s a good thing. With this record I kept it a secret what it sounded like. My mum heard one song. She still hasn’t heard the album. I’m keeping it very hush hush. I think I look to myself, those internal cues. I think the biggest one is if I can play it in a room full of people and not cringe at any point than okay this is good.”
Rimes’ new single ‘The Story’ is out now on RCA UK.
Her album ‘Remnants’ is due to follow in October this year.
