It’s where health officials have advised Olympic athletes to keep their mouths closed in the water while competing because of the threat of drug resistant “super bacteria.”

This, after the city failed to on their bid to treat 80 percent of the sewage pumped into the Bay, where waste from countless hospitals households ends up.

Now, Philipp Buhl of the German sailing team is speaking up.

“The water is a lot worse than everywhere else where we sail. I don’t think I need to beat about the bush here.”

Concerns about mosquito-born Zika virus have also plagued the summer Games.

But the German team’s head doctor, Bernd Wolfarth, says Brazilian health officials tell him the risk of Zika transmission is low.

Olympians can expect cooler, dryer weather in Rio to keep the mosquitos at bay, but they’ll still have to remember not to swallow the water.
