O anúncio dos indicados ao Eisner Awards 2016, o prêmio máximo dos quadrinhos nos Estados Unidos, trouxe uma grata surpresa ao nosso país. Três brasileiros entraram na lista dos indicados. Os irmãos Fábio Moon e Gabriel Bá foram indicados na categoria Melhor Adaptação de Outra Mídia, pelo álbum Dois Irmãos, baseado no romance de Milton Hatoum e publicado nos Estados Unidos pela editora Dark Horse, com o título Two Brothers. Rafael Albuquerque também foi lembrado, com uma indicação na categoria Melhor Capista, por Ei8ht, da Dark Horse e Huck, da Image. Não confundir com o famoso Hulk, da Marvel. A lista de indicados também apresenta outras surpresas como o número recorde de mulheres quadrinistas indicadas. Foram 49 mulheres, em 61 indicações. Numa reação ao machismo denunciado no prêmio do Festival de Quadrinhos Angoulême 2016. Editoras menores como Image, Dark Horse, Oni e Monkeybrain celebram o grande destaque entre as indicações, enquanto as poderosas Marvel e DC Comics tiveram participação reduzida. Se não fosse a linha Vertigo, a DC Comics seria pouco lembrada. A Marvel conquistou seu espaço com a elogiada nova série do Surfista Prateado, de Dan Slott e Michael Allred, além de Miss Marvel, de G Wilson Wilson. Indicados e vencedores são escolhidos entre os profissionais da indústria de quadrinhos norte americana. Os vencedores serão anunciados no mega evento Comic-Con de San Diego, que acontece entre 21 e 24 de julho.
