The weather wasn’t exactly on our side, with heavy rain on and off for most of the day. But, due to it being a November wedding, the majority of proceedings were spent in the warmth and comfort of indoors.
Photography, which you can see examples of throughout this blog post, was by the awesome couple of Kay and Rob who make up Brookfield Photography.
The day began with preparations in and around Bromsgrove. Matt filmed Katie’s bridal preparations, whilst Russ went to film the groom and his groomsmen.
Relatives had come from far and wide for the big day, and David’s family are Irish, so there were a lot of people who had crossed the Irish Sea to be there for the couple. It was also a unique wedding in that David is a professional jockey, so there was a large contingent of people involved in the horse racing industry.
The ceremony took place at the Holy Trinity and St Mary’s Church in Dodford. The church is set in lovely surrounds just outside Bromsgrove and is architecturally interesting in a lot of ways. The vicar and members of the church made our lives easy, which is always a big help.
From there, festivities moved to the Holiday Inn Bromsgrove. The speeches were a particular highlight, with David’s best man (and brother) stealing the show with a hilarious speech. The comedic timing was perfect and people were in hysterics! I think he has a career as a standup comedian in his future!
The first dance was also a major highlight, with lots of Irish traditional dancing and just an awesome atmosphere to the whole evening.
Even though the rain did its best to affect the day, everyone kept upbeat and positive and didn’t let the weather stop what was a brilliant celebration for two people who are clearly very much in love.
We wish Katie and David all the best in their new lives together. It was a fantastic day and we look forward to producing an exceptional film for them!
