Dwayne Johnson has been teasing all of his countless upcoming projects online lately, but he will take his promotional talents to television later this week. While he unveiled the new poster for Moana on Twitter, he also promised that he will bring the brand new Trailer to Good Morning America on the morning of Sept. 15.
First and foremost, Johnson showed off the poster of his upcoming Disney animated Film, where he both speaks and sings as the demigod Maui alongside Auli'i Cravalho's titular heroine.
Joining them are Moana's pig companion Pua, and a more brainless rooster named Heihei with clucks provided by Alan Tudyk.
More is sure to surround them in the new trailer, which serves as the film's third major sneak peek in America after a teaser trailer and an ad during the Olympics. Both teasers contained one of the film's new songs from Lin-Manuel Miranda, but time will soon tell if any more music will be unveiled in this new preview.
Once the trailer premieres on the Disney owned GMA, it will likely go to theaters attached to Disney's next live-action film Queen of Katwe, which won't be released until Sept. 23. Fittingly, it is another film about a young girl from a foreign land finding her place in the world, only it is a true story set in live action Uganda about chess, instead of a musical fable about Disney's first Hawaiian princess.
After Johnson further teases that fable on TV, Moana's tale will be fully told in theaters on Nov. 23.
