Grub Shup - Parivar, Poonam Sagar, Mira Road

Every once in a while there comes a time in the life of a foodie when (s)he is served such horrible Food at a place that the only way of paying back is to wish for a meteor to strike there and wipe that place clean from the face of the earth. One visit to Parivar will leave you praying for such meteor shower. This set up opens its doors to you, welcomes you in and serves you such horrible food that the food in your food pipe and you inside this place, both feel trapped. Neither can you continue sitting there nor throw the food out. Thus in the end the food remains barely touched, your wallet weighs a little less and your tummy (and soul) growls loudly with anger.

On our fateful visit to Parivar we decided to try something different than the regular main course and so ordered Chinese Bhel, Veg crispy, Jeera Aloo and one sada dosa for my kiddo. Chinese bhel came first. One look and we knew we were in trouble. As if it was the harbinger of the rest of the disaster that was to follow. After all, who garnishes Chinese bhel with chana dal (Bengal gram) ? That was a sight of Indian invasion of Chinese kitchen. Making a  bhel of their noodles was not Indian enough so we further decided to give it a dash of some chana dal to complete the mayhem!

Veg. Crispy followed next and we turned towards it with some hope. But alas that too was brutally crushed. Crispy lived up to its name and I am still recovering from the ulcers its crispiness generously granted to my mouth. Was that your idea of poking fun at us Mr.Chef?
Sadly, our miseries were not to end here. Soon jeera Aloo was sitting on the table looking like some respite but not tasting that way. Who adds turmeric to jeera aloo? Why not directly serve us some aloo bhaji from masala dosa then? Questions, questions and more questions.

When you have lost a battle the most respectful way out is to graciously accept your defeat. We did the same. Not having enough courage left to order anything else we asked for the bill, gave the manager some dirty looks (which he could not comprehend, lucky fellow) and left Parivar for good. I  sincerely pray that the management of Parivar does a general favour to the public of Mira Road and shuts this place for good. Because, if this family (parivar) insists on serving  us this way then we are better left alone hungry on the streets than within the Parivar.
