Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Pramod Madhwaraj on Thursday said here that the state government
would bring a new sports policy in order to provide top facilities for sportspersons to excel in international sports events like the Olympics. Speaking after inaugurating a new badminton court named after ace badminton player and Rajiv Khel Ratna recipient PV, Sindhu established at Ashoka Nagar in the city at a cost of Rs 35 lakh, he added that sports should attract youth. Sport should also motivate youth to excel in academics which could mould their lives, he said. Mr Madhwaraj said that to ensure better infrastructure, the proposed sports policy would be framed but people's views would be heard by conducting public meetings
at five selected places in the state to judge the pulse of sports aspirants.
