Spring has sprung!

nl1It’s a hive of activities all around! Spring has changed into Summer overnight! Silver Lakes Golf Estate is gearing up for a number of planned activities including the Annual Spring Walk. With the renovations at the Club now completed, it’s truly a pleasure to visit the Members Bar and Restaurant to enjoy a meal watching the sunset over the greens.

The Lodge is equally as busy and excited about the changes to come! We’re pruning, watering and watching the last of the winter flowers in bloom. Soon we will be revamping, replanting and adding new olive trees and other succulents to our garden to incorporate the first building of our expanded addition to the Lodge.

Happenings in Pretoria and surrounding areas

nl4From the third of September, the Centurion Mall is hosting the international exhibition “The Terracotta Army and the First Emperor of China“, a lovingly-recreated set of replicas of the original Terracotta Army first excavated in China in 1974.

If music is more your speed, the State Theatre is running the legendary musical Saturday Night Fever from the 13th of September to the 9th of October, so get your dancing trousers on and head over there!

img200622Animal lovers should save the date of Sunday the 18th of September, for the Bark in the Park event at Brooklyn Primary School. Bark in the Park is a new music festival and charity family fun day to raise funds and awareness for animal rescue in Pretoria. R80 gets you (and your dog!) into this fun day of music and helping our furry friends.

And with all the excitement all around…we look forward to the opening of the additional wing of the Lodge…with the coming of the “Purple Season” as the Jacarandas are quietly awaiting their time to bloom…
