Why Our Trainers and Members Love myTRAINER

Some Gyms are Used Car Dealerships w/ Free Weights

Walking into some gyms can feel like walking into a stereotypical used-car dealership. After you visit, the only thing you might remember about the staff is the dollar signs in their eyes, looking for their next sale. They seem less focused on your individual needs and goals; more on their goals.

Walking into Highland Park’s Mytrainer is very different.

How myTRAINER is Different

First, all of our training staff work on an hourly basis, not commission. myTRAINER’s owner and personal trainer, Keely, emphasizes that this solidifies the intentions of myTRAINER staff to focus on the client, not the sale. We hire great, passionate trainers who Love what they do and are ready to listen to you and your individual goals. There’s no pressure, except maybe the encouraging pressure to finish your workout.

Second, we have a variety of trainers with all different and awesome experiences with training. Just as there’s no cookie cutter client or workout suited for one person, we don’t have a cookie cutter staff. We have women and men of different builds, backgrounds, and athletic and non-athletic interests. The quality of training is consistent and your workout will never get stale or boring. Just to name a few on staff:

Keely has an extensive background in gymnastics, volleyball and corrective exercises. Vicki is our resident spiritual healer and certified yoga instructor (have you taken our yoga class yet?). Ben is trained and certified in TRX & RIP training, SPIN, Kinesiology Taping, and Pilates. King is an expert trainer who also teaches Chinese kickboxing.

And while some trainers may come and go from our roster such as Elyse and Emily, they are still very much a part of our team. Each of myTRAINER’s 12 trainers is hand-picked and well trained. You can check our entire team here. Our members have come to enjoy working with a variety of our staff, as you have the option of dropping in to train at any time of day.

Third, the myTRAINER team wants to be here. It’s not just a job, it’s a job they each love. Trainer Ben Rudzin relates, “I personally love coming to myTRAINER. I wake up super early to get there and to help the members. Time seems to go by fast while I’m there and I wish I could stay to train and chat longer with the clients.” When asked about other things that he loves, Rudzin shared, “The equipment at myTRAINER is better and more functional than your typical cardio and strength machines at your standard box gyms.” Trainers and clients won’t find dated equipment or “out of order” signs. myTRAINER equips their clients and trainers for hard work and success.

A Great Place to Work….and Work Out

We work hard to support our training team and create a fun, caring culture. Happy trainers=happy members. We’re also accepting applications for new trainers, so if this sounds like a place you’d like to work, submit an application here.

If you’d like to be a member, you can sign up or get more information here.
