Martinsville, Virginia: Nineteen year old NASCAR driver Chase Elliott qualifies for first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start. For tomorrow’s 1:00 p.m. STP 500 Elliott will lineup 27th on Martinsville Speedway in his Hendrick Motorsports No. 25 Chevy. Elliott will have a few more shots at starting Sprint Cup Series races later this year before going full-time next year as he moves in for retiring Jeff Gordon.
Elliott races full-time in the NASCAR XFINITY Series where he is the defending champion and currently sitting third in points with his No. 9 JR Motorsports Chevrolet after three top five finishes.
