Starting Monday, August 19, 2019 SamTrans will introduce a brand new express bus service between Foster City and San Francisco aboard Route FCX. To celebrate the new service, the route will operate free of charge for the first two weeks from August 19-30. Learn More.
Starting on September 2019 the adult fares will be $2.25 into San Francisco and $4.00 out of San Francisco
- Route FCX San Francisco runs about every 30 minutes on weekdays 6-8 a.m. and 3:30-6 p.m.
- Route FCX Foster City runs about every 30 minutes on weekdays 6:25 a.m. – 8:25 a.m. and 3:30 – 6 p.m.
Route FCX will operate five to six trips in both directions every weekday morning/evening at 30-minute intervals during peak commute hours. The route will utilize SamTrans’ upgraded fleet offering onboard Wi-Fi and a low floor design that facilitates easier, faster boarding.

In the morning, San Francisco residents working in Foster City can catch Route FCX at limited stops along Mission Street and Potrero Avenue before running express on US-101 directly to Foster City job centers at Vintage Park Drive and the MetroCenter.
