Enjoy free museum admission all day. At 1:00 pm Cartoonist Judd Winick will talk about and sign his newest graphic novel, Hilo Book 4: Waking the Monsters.
Winick started creating comics after appearing on the MTV reality-TV show, The Real World. He won several awards for his 1999 graphic novel Pedro and Me, and also worked on Road Trip; Frumpy the Clown (from 1996-98); The Adventures of Barry Ween, Boy Genius; and Green Lantern; among other titles. Winick’s newest graphic novel series Hilo was named Best Children’s Books of 2015 by Kirkus Reviews and made the Middle-Grade Chicago Public Library Best Books of 2015 list, and also won the 2016 Children’s Choice Award.
