Richard Houghten is a prolific little bastard. And I mean that in the kindest of ways. My suggested songs on many a platform and inbox are regularly littered with new music from Richard Houghten and I admit I like nearly everything he releases. “Plate” is the second song I’ve featured by him as I highlighted “Escaping The Voice” back in December.
Richard Houghten is a multi-instrumentalist, audio collage artist, and recording engineer from Southern California. He releases music as Richard Houghten, Bloomypetal, and (in collaboration with beat maker Brandon Burger) A Cosmic Gift.
Richard Houghten Bio
Richard Houghten is a multi-instrumentalist, specializing in guitar driven electronic music. From an early age Houghten began recording his own songs inspired by nature and artist such as Aphex Twin Bonobo and many others, eventually developing his own quirky left field sound. Houghten is also well known for cutting his own records and being an innovative vinyl mastering engineer. Many of his records have custom unique touches that distinguish them apart from the others, such as holographic patterns and custom hand cut designs.
