I guess 50 Cent will be laughing his way to the bank literally.
On Wednesday (December 13), a report from TMZ announced that 50 Cent signed an 8-figure extension Deal with Starz that will run for about the next two years through September of 2019. Through the deal 50 will be producing original programming for the cable network outside of the hit-series “Power.”
The deal includes three other television projects, “Tomorrow, Today,” which is reportedly the story of a superhero vigilante, from the Southside of Chicago, who is falsely imprisoned and experimented on by the prison doctor giving him supernatural abilities. He will go on to use his powers for the good of mankind. The second project is”Black Family Mafia,” which 50 announced he was working on earlier in the year and is based on the story of BMF boss Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory who was at the forefront of the intersection of Atlanta’s drug game and its hip-hop industry. Meech is currently serving prison time. The third series is slated to be announced at a later time.
50 took to his Instagram as per usual — it’s the place he’s aired out his issues with Starz in the past — to comment on the venture. “Still think I’m NOTHING? Ok watch what I do now. I’m just getting started, you know I’m a nightmare for a HATER. #denofthieves,” he captioned the TMZ screenshot.
In a more formal statement, the Queens mogul stated:
“I am extremely pleased to expand my partnership with Starz and Lionsgate,” 50 Cent said. “This investment in my television and film ventures through G-Unit Film & Television will launch a wide range of new original scripted and unscripted programming I’m looking forward to everyone seeing.”
