DISILLUSIONED. No, not a Cologne. Me!

Hi all,

I am disillusioned (disappointed, let down, saddened, depressed, discouraged, etc.) that (it would appear) too many Classic Fragrances are but "scent shadows" of their former selves. I am learning this applies to not only "Designer" Fragrances but, to favorite "Niche" Fragrances as well. What prompted me to make this post was my applying (what has been) one of my very favorite (newly acquired bottle) L'Artisan Dzing! Oooh dear God, no longer does this once MASTERPEICE of a L'Artisan resemble any kind of strength, in fact, it's very short lived. No longer do I smell it's beautiful (so called) Saw dust, Circus notes. Gone is that funky Animalistic accords that made Dzing! one of my TOP five Fragrances of all times. I was informed the other night by a very nice Basenoter that L'Artisan (during my absents) was sold. No doubt someone changed this once outstanding Fragrance for reasons unknown. Well, at least one of my other (Top three) Fragrances Santa Maria Novella Acqua di Cuba is still pretty much the same as I remember it being. All this being said, I think I'm now going to ABANDON (for the most part) my pursuit of Niche Fragrances and concentrated on Natural Perfumes
(also fleeting Fragrances I know but have little fear of replying often) and long lasting Attars/Oils.

C'EST LA VIE !
