Sad Sack record guest exhibit posted

I promised to post an exhibit this weekend, and I am delivering. I find it hard to believe that it has been almost a month since I posted an exhibit, but today we have another great guest exhibit from Rick Beckham.

We are returning to our look at Sad Sack merchandise with a 1975 compilation record of radio broadcasts from 1946. Spend a moment studying the back cover image, it is a nice survey of the various formats Sad Sack had appeared in. At the lower left, we see “SIMON and SCHUSTER HARDBOUND EDITIONS”. The book on the left looks similar to this one, but the art is different. It might be a later printing. Then, on the right, we see “STAR ON HIT RECORDS”. One of the two records we have seen before. If anyone has the “Sad Sack and Nap Sack Song” record, please use the Contact the Curator form to let me know! Finally, I would like to point out the section above the two records, “TOY and GAMES FAVORITE”. What toys and games were made featuring Sad Sack? I have seen a doll, but the examples I have seen for sale have been in very poor condition. If anyone has this doll, or any other Sad Sack merchandise not currently exhibited here on the Harvey Mercheum website, again please use the Contact the Curator form to let me know!
