From Nagpur, you may travel another three to four hours by car. Alternatively, you could go from Mumbai to Chandrapur instead of Nagpur by a train. Alternatively, you could avail a flight early morning on Friday from Mumbai to Nagpur that would be reaching Nagpur by 9 A.M. So you could rest assured that you would be able to go for the evening jungle safari at the Tadoba National Park. Air India flight no: AI-627 would be leaving Mumbai at 5.55 am and reaching Nagpur at 7.15 am.
Whether you are availing a train or a flight, you must arrange for a car pick up. You must book an AC vehicle well in advance while booking a room at one of the comfortable resorts at Tadoba National Park.

Be Choosy about Trains to Avail from Mumbai to NagpurYou could save a lot of precious vacation time at the National Park if you avail an overnight train on Thursday evening from Mumbai to Nagpur. However, you must choose only the comfortable and reliable trains such as Vidarbha Express that departs from Mumbai every day at 7.15 P.M. and reaches Nagpur at 8.55 A.M.
You may alternatively, avail Duronto Express that leaves Mumbai at 8.15 P.M. and reaches Nagpur at 7.20 A.M. These trains are best for achieving Tadoba on time after another 3 to 4 hours of drive from Nagpur so that you could catch the evening safari on Friday itself. Both train timings are convenient as you could attend a full day at the office and commence the journey.
Duronto Express is supposed to be a premium train and travels faster and provides meals and snacks and better travel experience. The idea behind availing these two trains is to reach Tadoba on time to enjoy the first Tadoba jungle safari on Day one, Friday evening itself.
There are daily two safaris: Morning safari at 6.00 A.M. to 11.00 A.M. and evening safari at 3.00 P.M. to 6.00 P.M. However, these timings are subject to change. You could enjoy four safaris in one weekend if you plan your trip wisely.
Return Journey to Nagpur & to MumbaiOn Sunday, you could come back to the resort after your fourth Tadoba jungle safari around 11 A.M. You are advised to leave for Nagpur by a car just after the safari. You must keep everything packed on Saturday night itself. You could then reach Nagpur well on time to avail Vidarbha Express at 5.15 P.M. or the Duronto Express at 8.40 P.M. However, please note that train schedules are subject to last minute changes.
You may alternatively, book return flights from Nagpur to Mumbai, well in advance. You must reach Nagpur airport latest by 6 P.M. to avail flights from Indigo Airlines departing at 8.25 P.M. from Nagpur and reaching Mumbai at 10 P.M. or an Air India flight leaving at 9.20 P.M. and reaching Mumbai at 10.55 P.M.
