The very first Youtube video was uploaded on 23 April 2005. What will be your first video? How much do you record? This gives your video creating skills a perfect place with an audience. To be successful on YouTube is hard and you have to do much more than just record videos. The following article will discuss YouTube’s features and give you tips in how to create an interesting YouTube channel.

Over time I have made a couple of YouTube channels. Some were more popular than others. When I was making videos all the time in gaming, I learnt a thing or two. I have not made videos consistently in a very long time. Still I make videos. Currently I am working on UNGROOVYGORDS Productions channel. I have a short film which will be uploaded there. On the 15th this month I have organised NBN so I will be able to publish it and so much more. A link to this YouTube channel will be at the bottom of this page.

First off you will need to create your first YouTube channel. If you have a Gmail account you are automatically given a YouTube channel to use. The other way is to click on the sign in button and find the Create Account button. Enter your details and it is as easy as that. Then go to the Creator Studio option to start customizing your channel. From there you can add in channel art and thumbnails for your channel. Remember any images that you use will be the certain dimensions that YouTube wants.

Then you need to start uploading videos. You can upload many at the same time. Depending on your internet speed it will take time to be public on YouTube. Your current internet’s download speed will be faster than your upload speed. About a 20th of your download speed or lower. Each video requires a tittle, description and tags. More details you can provide the better chance your videos will be seen. Research keywords and search engine optimization techniques and methods for even greater results.

You can première your video before it is published. So when the video is processed and out in the public people will be ready to the watch the video live straight away.  Once a video is on your channel you can click video manager and edit to edit individual videos. YouTube have many more options you can do such as choosing your own video thumbnails, monetization and much more. Do not expect to make money straight away.  To become a part of the YouTube Partner Program you will need 4000 hours of watch time within the past 12 months and 100 subscribers. Can be different if you channel is defined under a certain niche.

Do not be discouraged because there is other ways to make money from your videos such as affiliate marketing. So there you have it. A simple guide to creating your very own YouTube channel. Creating the channel is just the first step. Making the videos is fun but how will your YouTube channel be successful if no one knows who you are? You will not even get close to making a dollar if you do not know how to advertise and promote yourself. Even if your making a channel just for yourself, maintaining your channel takes a lot of time and effort.
