The first rule is for the passengers who miss their Train. In case, you have booked your seat and you are late on your boarding station, you can still board the train from the next two stations in the next one hour. Train Ticket collector cannot allow your seat for the next one hour of your boarding time.
If you have booked your middle birth, you cannot keep your birth up before or beyond 10 PM to 6 AM. This rule has been introduced to give comfortable sitting to the co-passengers.
As an occupant, you cannot carry your birds in the regular coach. If you still carry your bird, you will have to place in the freight or luggage van. According to the chapter 10 of the Indian Railways, Indian Railways do not hold any responsibility of birds traveling with their owners. If you are carrying your bird along, you need to fill a form and place your bird in the luggage van along with the sufficient amount of water and food for your lovely bird.
The train drivers aren’t given to taking a break even for a natures’ call during their driving period. It is against the rules and regulations set by Indian Railways. This is basically done to avoid any kind of train delays.
According to the rules laid by Indian Railways, authorized vendors cannot sell packed food products above the Maximum Retail price. Prices of packed food within the station. Any authorized seller found doing this will be given a punishment of the fine or his or her license may get canceled. In case you lost your ticket, you can seek help from Chief Reservation Supervisor available at the boarding station and raise a request by submitting an application for issue of a duplicate ticket.
Under such cases, you will be asked to give your identity proof. Your request will be looked after in the next 24 hours before your journey begins. Once you are given a duplicate ticket, your lost ticket will not hold any value.
If you cannot find the ticket to your original destination, you can book your ticket to the earliest station and ask TTE to take an extra fare from you. You may be given a different seat during that time.
Although Train services run smoothly in our country there are circumstances like the landslide, flood, earthquake or any other nature call wherein train services need to be terminated for a short duration. Passengers can ask for full refund of the ticket under such cases.
